DID YOU KNOW?
The older flag that was in the chancel area was a gift from the Eisenhowers, and it was the first flag to be manufactured, signifying the 50th state to join the Union. It was "flown" behind Ike's desk in the White House and is now in the Eisenhower Lounge and is in the process of being preserved.
What People Say
"This is a beautiful church with LOTS of history to boast. They are also blessed with a gifted pastor. Worth getting up for even if you are on vacation!!"
"We attended the early service and found the place to be occupied by genuine Christians. The message was excellent. We later learned it was Dwight Eisenhower's church after he retired which made it more special for us. President Lincoln attended a meeting there after the Gettysburg Address. Lincoln impersonator Jim Getty, was there as a congregant and it was very nice."
"Home is where the Heart is, GPC for me is home. Such a beautiful group of Christians, I will never worship anywhere else..."
